Hello there!

This blog is about my work as a Mountain Leader. I'm also an assistant Cave Leader.

I'm a qualified Mountain Leader (ML). This is a year-round day-or-night qualification of the Mountain Training Association, for taking people and groups of people up into the mountains of the UK and Ireland. I have also worked in Iceland, on the
Laugavegur and Fimmvörðuháls trails.

I work in Snowdonia, the Black Mountains,  the Brecon Beacons, the Lake District, and in Yorkshire, and sometimes in Scotland and Iceland. I do single or multiple trips, day or night.

My speciality is working with people who want to go up into the mountains but need someone to go with them, or who are unsure about where to walk, and perhaps a bit worried about getting lost in an unfamiliar area, or who are uncertain about what to do if they get caught in fog or heavy rain.

I'm the one in the dark jacket.

Just to be clear, this is not about rock climbing, it's about walking (and perhaps a little scrambling, if you like).
